Esther Stocker’s “Unlimited Space”
Esther Stocker, a painter, photographer and spatial artist, designed this vast installation specifically for the baroque hall of the Roudnice gallery. This space belongs to a series of exhibitions based primarily on geometric distortions and optical illusion, luring visitors into a maze of deception and confusion. The black and grey shapes are repeatedly placed on contrasting white backgrounds have been described as physically transforming. The minimalistic installation aims to start a dialogue between itself and the visitor. Despite Stocker’s first solo-exhibition being welcomed almost two decades ago, she continues to astound visitors all around the world to this day. The award-winning Vienna based artist is one to watch.
