Britta Boeckmann makes jewelry from recycled wood fragments

Designer Britta Boeckmann came up with the idea of recycling old wood after being inspired by Australia’s flora and fauna. Originally from Germany, her Industrial Design education has taken her from one country to another.  She finally decided to create her brand BoldB in Australia, which consists of various collections of handcrafted jewelry. “The process of making them varies slightly from piece to piece but involves the delicate process of making molds, casting resin and wood, gently sanding the pieces into their unique shapes and then finally varnishing or oiling the jewelry,” Boeckmann explains. Each collection has a certain color theme and is made up from necklaces as well as rings and earrings. The dynamic nature of the carefully crafted jewelry truly comes to life when viewed from up close. The recent Bachelor graduate wasted no time putting herself, and Australia’s eye-catching forests, on the map.
